
Gladiators Beat Texas, 5-2

Atlanta Gladiators News Release
The Gwinnett Gladiators used goals from five different players in a 5-2 win over the Texas Wildcatters on Saturday night in front of 8,580 at the Arena at Gwinnett Center.
Texas jumped out to a 1-0 lead on the power play 5:40 into the first period. Mark Gianetti jammed a bouncing puck underneath Gladiators goaltender Sean Fields. Aaron MacInnis and Ryan Fultz added the assists on the goal.
Randy Dagenais got the Gladiators on the board on Gwinnett's second 5-on-3 power play of the first period ripping a slap shot past Texas goaltender Phil Osaer. Brad Schell picked up the assist rolling the puck back to Dagenais at the point to set up goal with 2 minutes left in the period on the power play.
Jeff Campbell tallied his 25th goal of the season on the power play to give the Gladiators a 2-1 lead. Randy Dagenais fed Campbell at the point where the rookie sipped a slap shot over the shoulder of Osaer for the tally. Brad Schell had an assist on the tally.
The Gladiators pushed their lead to 3-1 early in the third period on a goal by Paul Flache rolling the puck up the shoulder of Osaer and into the net. Schell added his second assist of the night on the goal at 4:35 of the third period while Lane Manson also picked up a helper on the play.
John Snowden cut into the Gladiators lead at 16:29 of the third period roofing the puck over the head of Fields on a giveaway along the goal line near the Gladiators net. Eric Sonnenberg picked up an assist on the goal.
Kris Goodjohn answered for the Gladiators 34 seconds later slamming home a rebound past Osaer at 17:03 of the third period. Chris Durno started the rush down the left wing wall snapping a shot on Osaer that was kicked to Jeff Campbell. Campbell was stopped as well but the rebound shot out to Goodjohn who buried the puck home.
Andrew Oke picked up an empty net goal for the Gladiators to put the game away with 34 second left in the game. Oke's unassisted goal was also a shorthanded goal as the Gladiators where shorthanded for the final 1:44 of the game.
Sean Fields made 23 saves in the win for Gwinnett as the Gladiators pick up two points and improve to 28-17-8 on the season and stay in a tie for 7th in the American Conference as Mississippi beat Pensacola in a shootout, 3-2 as both teams now have 64 points on the year.
