
Gladiators Beat Everblades 4-3

Brad Schell scored the only goal in a shootout and Kris Goodjohn scored two goals for Gwinnett in a 4-3 shootout win over the Florida Everblades on Friday night.
Brad Church gave the Everblades a 1-0 lead taking a centering pass and jamming it past Gladiators netminder Sean Fields 5:11 into the first period. Reggie Berg dug the puck out of a pile up in the corner to add an assist on the play. Simon Tremblay also had a helper on the play. Kris Goodjohn found a loose puck in a scramble in front of Florida netminder Craig Kowalsky and pushed the puck in to the net to tie the game. Chris Durno and Colin Stuart picked up assists on the goal at 7:59 of the first period.
Gwinnett took a 2-1 lead on Goodjohn's second goal of the night beating Kowalski over the left shoulder on a breakaway 9:40 into the first period.
Ryan Van Buskirk took a pass from Joe Bourne and set up the play in side the Gladiators zone whipping a pass through the neutral zone that was tapped by a Florida defenseman and right to Goodjohn. Florida tied the game up at 2-2 with a goal on a 5-on-3 power play 7:35 into the third period. Reggie Berg ripped an off wing slap shot past Fields for the goal. Ryan Brindley and Simon Tremblay added the assists on the goal.
Brent McDonald gave the Everblades a 3-2 lead a minute and a half later rolling a shot past Fields along the goal line. Matt Pagnutti and Steve Saviano added the assists on the goal for the Everblades at 9:09 of the third period.
Colin Stuart tied the game at 3-3 with just 12 seconds left flipping the puck over an outstretched Kowalski for the tying goal to send the game to overtime. Ryan Van Buskirk kept the play alive knocking the puck down at the blue line as Jeff Campbell and Durno picked up the helpers on the tally.
Sean Fields made 35 saves in the 4-3 shootout win for Gwinnett as the Gladiators improve to 20-12-4 on the season.
