
Mississippi's Corbeil Replaces St. Pierre On All-Star Roster

PRINCETON, N.J. - The ECHL announced on Friday that Mississippi center
Nicolas Corbeil will replace Greenville center Martin St. Pierre on the
American Conference roster for the 2005 Coors Light ECHL All-Star
Game.
Selected in the third round (88th overall) by Toronto in the 2001 NHL Entry
Draft and assigned to Mississippi by Rochester of the American Hockey
League, the 5-11 and 180-pound Corbeil has 26 points (9g-17a) in 34 games
with Mississippi. In his first professional season in 2003-04, the
21-year-old Corbeil scored 24 points (9g-15a) in 31 games with Pee Dee of
the ECHL while also playing one game in the AHL with Norfolk. Corbeil also
played in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League in 2003-04, scoring 30
points (9g-21a) in 27 regular season games and five points (1g-4a) in five
playoff games with Cape Breton.
Under contract to Edmonton of the American Hockey League, the 21-year-old
St. Pierre is on recall to Edmonton. In his first AHL game on Sunday, St.
Pierre scored a power-play goal to tie the game 2-2 as Edmonton lost 3-2 in
overtime at San Antonio on Sunday. St. Pierre leads ECHL rookies with 29
assists and is tied for the rookie scoring lead with 39 points in 33 games.
He ranks second overall in assists and is tied for sixth overall in
scoring.
The 13th Annual ECHL All-Star Game and Skills Competition will be held at
the 7,215-seat Sovereign Center in Reading, Pa. The Skills Competition will
be on January 25 at 7:05 p.m. and the All-Star Game will be played on
January 26 at 7:05 p.m. Tickets are still available for all events and can
