Birmingham Barons News Release
Hoover, AL - Hector Gimenez slammed two home runs and collected five RBI as the Chattanooga Lookouts (29-19, 64-54) hammered the Birmingham Barons (18-31, 58-61), 6-3, Saturday night in front of 6,293 fans at Chattanooga's AT&T Park.
The Barons took an early 3-0 lead in the top of the fourth inning when Jon Gilmore reached on a ground-rule double over the right-center field wall. Following a walk to Seth Loman and fielder's choice by Jose Martinez that advanced Gilmore to third base, Luis Sierra drew a walk that loaded the bases. With the sacks packed, Jake Oester lined a bases-clearing, three-run double to center field.
Alex Castellanos lined a leadoff triple in the bottom of the fourth inning and trotted home on Gimenez's sixth home run of the season, a two-run shot over the right field wall as the Lookouts came within one run, 3-2.
Chattanooga seized a 6-3 advantage in the seventh inning behind a three-run home run by Gimenez, his second of the game, and a sacrifice fly by Jake Lemmerman.
Lookouts starter Chris Withrow (4-6) garnered the victory when he pitched 7.0 IP with three earned runs on 5 hits, 4 walks and 5 strikeouts. Ames (S, 5) registered the save after he tossed 1.0 hitless IP with three strikeouts.

Birmingham and Chattanooga finish their five-game series with game four on Sunday afternoon, with first pitch set for 1:15 p.m. (CDT) at Chattanooga's AT&T Park. The Barons turn to left-hander Justin Edwards (3-6, 4.62) while the Lookouts hand the ball to right-hander Allen Webster (4-2, 4.12).
