ZEBULON, NC - Henry Wrigley reached all five times but the Carolina Mudcats (21-26) exploded early and handed the Biscuits (25-23) a 9-4 defeat Saturday at Five County Stadium.

The Biscuits jumped out to a 2-0 lead after a half inning, but could have had more. The first six men in the inning reached on four hits and two walks, but two baserunning blunders limited the rally. Carolina would follow with three in the first and three in the second against Shane Dyer (6-8) to take a 6-2 lead. Dyer lasted 5.1 and allowed seven runs total on 11 hits and a walk.

The Biscuits had cut it to 6-4 with RBI from David Wendt in the fourth and Shawn O'Malley in the sixth, but Carolina responded with single runs in three straight innings, getting solo shots from Neftali Soto and Eric Campbell to put the game out of reach.

Wrigley singled twice and for the second time in his career walked three times. O'Malley, David Wendt, and Kyeong Kang all had two hits apiece as well.

Brandon Hynick (2-3) was the winner for Carolina, going 2.2 in relief of starter Justin Lehr who allowed nine hits over his 4.1

RHP Alex Colome will take the mound for the Biscuits in the fourth game of the ten game road trip Sunday at 1:00 CT against Carolina RHP Pedro Villareal.
