Mississippi Braves News Release

Mobile, AL - The Mississippi Braves took a 3-1 lead into the bottom of the fifth, but the Mobile BayBears came alive through the final four frames to win 11-3 and take the series at Hank Aaron Stadium.

Aaron Shafer had allowed just a run in the first four innings, but three errors in the fifth extended the frame, and Mobile (33-15, 71-47) plated five runs to steal away the lead. Shafer was chased with just one out in the fifth.

The BayBears scored four more in the seventh-all unearned off of reliever Richard Sullivan on two more Braves errors-and one more run in the eighth.

Mobile's Bryan Henry earned the win, his sixth. Shafer took the loss for Mississippi (22-27, 47-72), his second.

Willie Cabrera led the M-Braves at the plate, going 2-for-5 with a double, a triple and a run scored.

Daniel Kaczrowski hit a two-run home run in the fifth to help the BayBears' cause, his first career home run at the double-A level.

The Braves and BayBears meet for the finale of the five-game series on Sunday at 6:05 PM CDT. Lefthander Jose Lugo gets the nod for the Braves against Mobile righty Trevor Bauer, making his double-A debut. Listen live at WYAB 103.9 FM and at MississippiBraves.com.
