Florida Everblades News Release

ESTERO, FL - Florida Everblades announced that forward Milan Gijac has been placed on the 21-day IR, while defenseman Anthony Aiello has been activated off the injured list.

Gijac ranks second on the team in scoring. In nine games this season, the University of Michigan graduate has posted a goal and seven assists for eight points. He has a lower body injury. Details of the injury were not disclosed.

Defenseman Anthony Aiello has been activated off the 21-day injured reserve list. Aiello played his collegiate hockey at Boston College where he scored five goals and 30 assists in 132 games with the Eagles. The 2005 draft pick of the Minnesota Wild was placed on the injured list back on October 14 after sustaining an injury during training camp. Tonight will be Aiello's first professional game.

The Everblades and Checkers meet up again tonight for the second of back-to-back tilts. The Checkers prevailed 4-3 in a shootout last night, scoring on the game's 11th shooter to secure the two points. The Blades have dropped three straight (0-2-1) and look to break out of their winless streak.
