
Wranglers Topped By Condors, 4-1

Las Vegas, NV - The Las Vegas Wranglers(r) (4-4-0, 8 Points) were defeated by the Bakersfield Condors (5-4-0, 10 Points) 4-1 in front of 3,274 fans at the Orleans Arena on Thursday night. Bakersfield forwards MacGregor Sharp and Dan Sexton each tallied a goal and an assist in the Condors win. Condors goalie Timo Pielmeier made 20 saves in his third win on the season. Forward Andrew Ianiero and defenseman John de Gray also tallied for Bakersfield. Las Vegas forward Matt Watkins tallied the lone Wranglers goal. Las Vegas goalie Michael Ouzas stopped 36 of 40 shots in the loss. The Wranglers will host the Condors again Friday night, November 6th, at 7:05 p.m. at the Orleans Arena.
In the first period, Bakersfield opened the scoring with a goal from center MacGregor Sharp at 15:24. Forwards Dan Sexton and Shawn Weller set up Sharp's fourth goal on the season to give the Condors the 1-0 lead. Las Vegas answered back just 1:16 later with forward Matt Watkins scored on a rebound. Wranglers winger Andrew Orpik was given the preliminary assist on Watkins second goal of the season.
Bakersfield regained the lead with a goal from forward Dan Sexton at 5:22 of the second period. Sharp and Weller set up a Sexton wrist shot for the 2-1 Condors lead. Less than a minute later, Condors forward Andrew Ianiero tallied his third goal on the season to increase the Bakersfield lead to 3-1. Bakersfield increased the lead to 4-1 with a power-play goal from defenseman John de Gray. Forwards Kyle Calder and Stephane Goulet set up the goal at 9:28 of the second period.
The teams would go scoreless in the third period. Bakersfield outshot Las Vegas 40-21 on the night, as the Condors closed out the 4-1 victory.
