Fresno Grizzlies News Release

FRESNO, CA - The San Francisco Giants and Fresno Grizzlies proudly announced a two-year extension of their Player Development Contract on Monday at Chukchansi Park. The Grizzlies have been affiliated with the Giants since the franchise's inception in 1998, and the two-year extension guarantees a continued association between the two clubs through at least the 2012 season.

Both Giants Managing General Partner Bill Neukom and Vice President of Baseball Operations Bobby Evans were on hand to celebrate the renewal of the agreement between the two organizations, which was announced on the field following the top of the third inning of Monday night's game.

"Our affiliation with Fresno is a natural fit for the Giants organization," said Evans. "We are happy for the opportunity to continue to develop our excellent relationship with the Grizzlies."

The Grizzlies and Giants last extended their PDC during the exhibition game between the two teams on March 26, 2008 at Chukchansi Park. Fresno adopted an orange and black color scheme that matches that of its parent club prior to the 2008 season.

"We are thrilled to continue our relationship with the Giants," said Grizzlies Managing Partner Chris Cummings. "We are very fortunate to be affiliated with a Major League franchise with as much class and history as the Giants have, and look forward to a long and prosperous future with them."

The first-place Grizzlies conclude their current eight-game homestand Tuesday at 7:05 as they take on the Colorado Springs Sky Sox at Chukchansi Park. Tickets for each of the remaining 13 Grizzlies regular-season home games are on sale now at www.fresnogrizzlies.com, through the Grizzlies ticket office, or by phone at 559.320.TIXS.
