Metairie, LA - Chubby Checker, the singer-songwriter who popularized the dance known as "The Twist," will be at Zephyr Field on Monday night as the Zephyrs attempt to break the Guinness Book of World Records mark for most people simultaneously doing "The Twist."

Checker is in the New Orleans area in preparation for a concert in Chalmette to benefit the "Tower of Lights Project," which goes to continuing Hurricane Katrina recovery efforts in St. Bernard Parish.

"The Twist" is celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2010. The song was recently ranked 451st on Rolling Stone's 500 Greatest Songs of All-Time. The record for most people doing "The Twist" at once currently stands at 1,700.

First pitch between the Zephyrs and Albuquerque Isotopes is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
