Player Notes: Jeff Zehr is on a current nine game point scoring streak, scoring 17 points on five goals and 12 assists in that span...The nine game point scoring streak for Zehr is tied for the longest current streak in the league...Tyson Turgeon and Terry Marchant are on three game point scoring streaks...Preston Cicchine recorded his first point as professional with an assist on Friday night and scored his first professional goal on Saturday night...Bryan Worosz has won four consecutive starts and five of his last six.

Team Notes: The Generals are second in power play percentage at 20.1%, and first in road power play at 20.2%...The Generals are sixth in the league in penalty kill at 81.9%...The nine goals scored by Quad City on Friday night were the most the Generals have given up in a game this season.

GENERALS WEEK IN REVIEW January 29 - February 4

Friday, February 2 Flint 3 @ Quad City 9

The Generals carried a season high six game winning streak into Quad City looking for their first win of the season against the Mallards. Quad City took a 2-0 lead on the Generals with a pair of first period power play goals. The Generals got back to within one goal at 2-1 on a Jeff Zehr goal at 16:43. Preston Cicchine assisted on the goal. The Mallards opened a 6-1 lead with four second period goals in less than a ten minute span. Two of the goals were scored on the power play. Jordan Fox scored at 2:59 of the third period from David Frawley and Tyson Turgeon. The Mallard answered with three straight goals, one shorthanded, to take a 9-2 lead. Terry Marchant ended the scoring at 14:24 of the third period with a power play goal from Gerard Miller and Bobby Reynolds. Jason Muzzatti made 37 saves on 46 shots in the loss.

Saturday, February 3 Flint 7 @ Chicago 5

Flint opened the scoring with a Terry Marchant goal at 5:20 of the first period to take a 1-0 lead. Mike Kinnie and Jordan Fox assisted on the goal. The Generals increased their lead to 2-0 at 18:22 on a Preston Cicchine goal, the first goal of his career. Kinnie extended the Generals lead to 3-0 at 3:15 of the second period with John Osborne and Marchant assisting. Chicago scored a power play goal at 4:35 to make it a 3-1 game. Fox scored his first goal of the game, a power play goal, at 6:45 to give Flint its second three goal lead of the game. The Hounds scored three goals in less than three minutes, two on the power play, to tie the game 4-4 through two periods of play. At 2:18 of the third period, the Hounds took their first lead of the game at 5-4. The Generals tied the game 5-5 on a Jeff Zehr power play goal at 8:49. Fox's second goal of the game at 12:54 put the Generals back in front and a Jason Selleke goal at 17:58 ended the scoring. Bryan Worosz made 23 saves on 28 shots for the win.

PREVIEW OF UPCOMING GENERALS GAMES February 5 - February 11

Friday, February 9 Flint @ Rockford 8:30p.m.

The Generals begin a two game weekend with their second trip of the season to Rockford. The Generals are 2-2-0 against Rockford this season, 0-1-0 on the road. The IceHogs won 4-2 on December 23 in the first meeting in Rockford on December 23.

Saturday, February 10 Flint @ Quad City 8:00p.m.

The Generals end the week in Quad City. The Generals are 0-3-0 against the Mallards this season, 0-2-0 on the road. Quad City is 10-21 on the power play against the Generals and have outscored Flint 23-9 in the first three games.

Generals Player of the Week:

The Generals Player of the Week is Jordan Fox. Fox had five points in two games last week on three goals and two assists. He had two goals and two assists on Saturday night including the game-winning goal. He also played at a +1.

Generals Goaltender of the Week:

The Generals Goaltender of the Week is Bryan Worosz. Worosz went 1-0-0 last week in one game played. He made 23 saves on 28 shots for a .821 save percentage and had a goals against.
