Rockford IceHogs News Release

And the offense rolls on! The week was highlighted by Rockford's most lopsided win of the season on Saturday in Muskegon, 10-4. Bacon Bits:

Rockford tied a club record on Saturday, netting 10 goals against the Muskegon Fury. The Hogs accomplished the feat twice before (2/5/00 at Muskegon 10-7 and 3/8/06 at Elmira 10-2).

Winger Robin Big Snake tied a club single-game regular season record when he scored four goals against Muskegon on Saturday. Preston Mizzi accomplished the task on 4/9/06 against Muskegon.

The last three skaters to net hat-tricks for Rockford all notched four goals (Mizzi, Billy Tibbetts on 5/6/06 at Kalamazoo in the playoffs and Big Snake on Saturday.) Prior to Mizzi lighting four lamps, the Hogs never had a four-goal scorer.

Big Snake also added an assist in Saturday's contest, setting a club season-high with five points. His overall line for the game read 4g-1a-5pts, 10 shots on goal, 10 PIM's and a plus/minus rating of +2.

Mizzi has an IceHogs season-high nine-game point streak. During his hot stretch, the Hogs centerman has 9g-12a-21pts.

With Mizzi's short-handed goal on Saturday in Muskegon, he surpassed Mike Figliomeni for most career IceHogs goals with 69 and became the Hogs all-time short-handed goals leader with five.

Mizzi is also the Hogs all-time power-play goal scorer with 23.

Rockford won its first shootout in nearly a full calendar year on Friday (2/2) in Kalamazoo. The Hogs last shootout victory came on 3/3/06 against Motor City and the previous win came on 1/11/06 at Kalamazoo.

After netting just three shootout goals in its first 19 attempts, the Hogs buried markers on three of its four shootout shots in Kalamazoo.

Winger Nicolas Corbeil, on loan to the Hogs American Hockey League affiliate Milwaukee Admirals, accounted for 3g-1a-4pts in the Ads two games over the weekend.

Corbeil was named the game's #1 star following Milwaukee's 3-2 overtime win over the Houston Aeros on Friday in which he netted both of the Admirals regulation goals.

Rockford goalie Frederic Cloutier is 9-1-2 in his last 12 decisions.

With Jason Ralph in the line-up, the IceHogs have a record of 9-0-1.

Over the IceHogs past 10 games, the club has scored 58 goals. Rockford is 8-1-1 in that stretch.

Hot Hog Week 17:

For a third straight week, Hogs center Preston Mizzi is the club's Player of the Week nomination. Mizzi, the two-time reigning UHL's Player of the Week, accumulated 2g-4a-6pts in two games. Mizzi's scoring line read the same in both games as he chipped in a goal and two assists in the IceHogs two wins.
