(Hickory, NC- August 16, 2015)- The West Virginia Power edged the Hickory Crawdads 3-1 Sunday at L.P. Frans Stadium. Yeudy Garcia and John Sever combined to limit the Crawdads to one run on four hits and helped the Power win the weekend series.

In the top of the second, Jerrick Suiter walked and advanced to second base on a sacrifice bunt. Suiter stole third on a strikeout by Tito Polo. Crawdads catcher Jose Trevino's throw to third skipped past the base and into left field, allowing Suiter to score the game's first run.

Garcia (12-5) pitched four no-hit innings for West Virginia. The right-hander walked one and struck out three through five complete, allowing only one hit; a leadoff single in the fifth.

West Virginia added two runs in the top of the ninth to extend the lead. Michael Suchy singled to extend his hitting streak to 11 in a row and Suiter walked. With two down, Tito Polo tripled both home for a 3-0 Power edge. The Crawdads broke up the shutout with a run on two hits in the bottom of the ninth.
