Greenville, SC - A tough homestand for the Greenville Drive ended with a 1-5 record following Sunday afternoon's 6-2 loss to the Charleston RiverDogs.

Despite the defeat, the Drive (22-27, 60-59) finished the Battle of the Palmetto State Rivalry Series with a 12-8 record against the RiverDogs (19-30, 53-66) in the 2015 season to take home the Spinx Rivalry Series trophy.

Charleston scored three times in the first against Dedgar Jimenez (6-9) and never looked back. Back-to-back doubles by Angel Aguilar and Vicente Conde made the score 1-0 after two batters, and an RBI hit from Austin Aune and a sacrifice fly by Devyn Bolasky brought home the next two runs.

A two-out Drive error in the second put Conde on base, and the RiverDogs made Greenville pay, as consecutive singles by Bo Thompson and Billy Fleming ran the score to 4-0.

The Drive countered in the second with their lone two runs on the day. Charleston starter Matt Marsh (2-4) issued three walks in the frame, with the third a bases-loaded free pass to Carlos Mesa. Bryan Hudson followed with a fielder's choice groundout to score the second run.

In the sixth, the RiverDogs scored again to chase Jimenez from the game. Radley Haddad doubled to left, moved to third on Griffin Gordon's bunt single and came in on a double play groundball.

Conde continued his hot weekend hitting with a one-out double in the ninth, and he came in on Fleming's sacrifice fly to center for an insurance run. He finished the afternoon 3-5 with three runs. Fleming added two hits as well.

Greenville's offense was led by Danny Mars and Mike Meyers, who collected two hits apiece.

The Drive begin a road trip on Monday night with a three-game series against the Greensboro Grasshoppers, affiliate of the Miami Marlins. First pitch is set for 7:05 PM. LH Jake Drehoff (2-1, 2.81) takes the ball for the Drive in the series opener, and the Grasshoppers will start RH Tyler Kolek (4-10, 4.47).
