Matchup:

The Solar Bears hit the ice for their second road contest of the season as they try to cool off a red hot Stingrays team tonight. Orlando earned back-to-back wins last weekend over the Gwinnett Gladiators, starting with a 4-2 victory on Saturday night that saw the return of John Curry to the Solar Bears net. Curry stopped a Solar Bears season-high 28 shots in the win. On Sunday afternoon, the Solar Bears scored twice on the power play and killed off six penalties to collect a 4-1 win and weekend sweep over Gwinnett. The Stingrays dropped their first game of the season in a shootout, but have won their next three to earn seven of eight possible points to start the year. On Friday, South Carolina trailed 1-0 to Greenville with one minute left in regulation, but F Scott Campbell scored twice in the final 30 seconds to help the Stingrays collect the victory. Orlando is 3-5-0-0 all-time against South Carolina.

Solar Bears Notes:

F Ian Slater earned his 100th ECHL PIM on Sunday afternoon... G Christopher Gibson collected his first professional win in Orlando's last game... D Paul Baier sustained an upper body injury on Sunday and is listed as day-to-day... The Solar Bears have killed off all 23 power plays they have faced this season... Both games against Gwinnett last weekend saw each team have a 5-on-3 power play chance... The Solar Bears scored their first shorthanded goal of the year on Saturday and collected their first power play goal of the season on Sunday... The Solar Bears have played all four of their previous games against divisional opponents. Their first game outside of the South Division is on Thursday, November 7, when they host the Elmira Jackals... Orlando acquired the rights to F Francis Verreault-Paul from the Bakersfield Condors on Friday to complete the future considerations trade that saw George Hughes head to Bakersfield.

Stingrays Notes:

F Scott Campbell has scored three goals in the last two games... F Chad Painchaud is tied for the ECHL lead with two power play goals... G Jeff Jakaitis is 5th in the league with a 1.48 GAA. He is fourth with three wins and 98 saves... F Marc Hagel is 4th among rookies with a 40% shooting percentage... F Scott Campbell leads the team with four goals and five points... F Igor Gongalsky and F Jordan Owen are tied for the team lead with three assists each...
