Josh Caron Returns from Houston:

The Orlando Solar Bears announced today that D Josh Caron has returned to the team from their American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, the Houston Aeros.

Caron played in the first 14 games for the Solar Bears before being recalled to Houston on November 17. In those 14 games with the Solar Bears, the Campbell River, BC, native scored one goal and added one assist along with picking up 28 penalty minutes (PIM). Both of his points came against the Florida Everblades in Orlando's 8-2 victory in Estero on October 19. With the Aeroes, Caron skated in nine games, picking up seven PIM.

Matchup:

The Solar Bears continue on their six-game road trip, playing their fourth game of the trip tonight against the Florida Everblades. The matchup kicks the first of a five-game set between the two clubs, with the first three games being played in Estero before the final two games at Amway Center on Thursday, December 27, and Friday, December 28. Orlando and Florida opened the season with four straight contests (in addition to two preseason games), with the Solar Bears earning a 2-1-1-0 record in those four games. The last time these two teams met was in the Solar Bears Home Opener on October 20, with Orlando earning a 4-3 victory in a 12-round shootout.

Orlando activated LW Nick Petersen from reserve today and he is expected to play tonight... F C.J. Severyn has scored three goals in the last two games... RW Dan Gendur played in his 100th ECHL game on Sunday in Trenton... D Sean Lorenz was placed on reserve today... F Ryan Ginand is currently on the 21-day IR... D Corbin Baldwin was placed on the 21-day IR on Thursday... RW Chris Lawrence remains on the 21-day IR....G Mike Brodeur remains on the 21-day IR but has resumed skating drills... D Kyle Medvec, and F Rob Mignardi are currently recalled to the Houston Aeros... F Olivier Fortier is currently recalled to the Hamilton Bulldogs.

Florida Notes:

LW Matt Marquardt leads Florida with five points (2 goals, 3 assists) against Orlando this season... The Everblades are averaging 3.40 goals per game, tying them for fourth in the ECHL in goals per game... D Bobby Raymond is tied for third among defensemen in goals... The Everblades have won five of their last six games, all by one goal and two coming in shootouts... Florida is eighth on the power play at 21.4 percent (28-for-131) and 18th on the penalty kill at 79.1 percent (91-for-115)
