Nailers Sweep Home Set with Greenville, 4-1

Wednesday morning, the Wheeling Nailers battled the Greenville Road Warriors for the second time in less than 24 hours. For the second time in a row, the host Nailers came out on top, using a pair of goals from Paul Crowder to defeat the Road Warriors, 4-1.
Carl Sneep started off the scoring for the Nailers at the 15:52 mark of the first period, while playing on the man advantage. Sneep used traffic in front of the net as a screen, before snapping a wrist shot into the left side of the goal. Chris Barton and Andrew Hotham assisted, as Wheeling connected on the power play for the eighth straight game.
The second period was a very physical period, and emotions were high, as Peter Merth and Justin Wilson dropped the mitts with under three minutes to go. Prior to that, Greenville evened the score, as Francis Verreault capitalized on a turnover, scoring on a 2-on-1 rush from the left circle. Paul Crowder quickly regained the advantage for the Nailers, redirecting Joe Stejskal's shot from the right point.
Crowder added to the lead at the 5:51 mark of the third, backhanding a shot over Jason Missiaen's left shoulder. Hotham and Peter Lenes earned the assists, as all three players produced multi-point games. Cody Wild wrapped up the scoring with 6:16 left in the contest, intercepting a pass, before blasting home a shot from the blueline, as the Nailers won, 4-1.
Peter Delmas earned the win for Wheeling, making 21 saves on 22 shots for the second day in a row. Jason Missiaen was the losing goaltender for Greenville, after stopping 30 of the 34 shots he faced.
