Road Warriors Trampled by Nailers

Wheeling, WV: The Road Warriors dropped another game against the Wheeling Nailers by a 4-1 score.

The first period was an even battle between the two teams but Wheeling exited the period with a 1-0 lead off Carl Sneep's second goal of the year. It was the first powerplay goal of the night scored by the Nailers.

Francis Verreault tied the game at one with his seventh goal of the year. The tie would last 7:17 seconds. Paul Crowder regained the lead and scored the eventual game winner with his sixth goal of the year. Wheeling outshot the Road Warriors in the period 19-6.

Wheeling continued a steady attack in the third and extended the lead again with Crowder's second goal of the game and seventh of the season. Cody Wild would score the fourth and final goal on the powerplay. Greenville outshot the Nailers in the period 8-6. Jason Missiaen was handed his first loss with 30 saves. Peter Delmas continues his winning streak at three games with 21 saves on the night.

The Road Warriors return to the EquilifeMD Rink at the BI-LO Center this weekend for Go "Green" Ville Weekend as they highlight environmental awareness with Scene on Seven. Greenville hosts the Toledo Walleye on Friday and Saturday night at 7 p.m. Friday's Hockey Happy Hour presented by Chiefs Wings & Firewater, Rock 101 and ABC Party Rentals begins at 5 p.m. with FREE FOOD, DISCOUNTED DRINKS AND ENTERTAINMENT FOR THE ENTIRE FAMILY.
