TONIGHT:
The Ontario Reign (13-9-2-3) play their second of three games in as many nights against the Colorado Eagles (15-9-0-0). This is the seventh meeting of the season between these two clubs; although both teams have three wins against the other, Ontario currently leads the season series by virtue of having earned a point in Friday's 4-3 overtime loss.
REINFORCEMENTS ARRIVE:
After losing several defensemen to call-ups and injuries, the Reign blueline has been bolstered with both Ryan Parent and Ralfs Freibergs returning to Ontario after brief stints with the St. John's IceCaps. Parent appeared in one game with St. John's after signing a professional tryout agreement (PTO) with the team earlier this week, while Freibergs notched two assists in four games.
BLACKWATER BUZZING, EARNING LEADERSHIP ROLE:
With his two points on Friday, Judd Blackwater earned his 250th career pro point. The forward also has the team lead in points against the Eagles this season with seven (3g-4a). With the absence of Jeff May and Everett Sheen, Blackwater and former Las Vegas Wranglers teammate Nolan Julseth-White have each represented the Reign as alternate captains with the "A" being stitched onto each of their jerseys.
BREAKOUT FOR BROWN:
Rookie defenseman Dennis Brown is quietly putting together a solid season in his first full campaign with Ontario. After only playing twice in the first 18 games of the season, Brown has earned playing time over the last nine games, and had a career night on Friday with two assists.
