TONIGHT:
The Ontario Reign (37-13-3-2=79 points) meet the Bakersfield Condors (18-35-2-3=41 points) for the seventh of ten meetings this season. The Reign haven't dropped a game to the Condors since their Home Opener on October 13, 2011 giving them 16 straight victories (13 in regulation) looking for 17 tonight in Bakersfield.
The Reign are 16-6-1-2 on the road, the Condors are 10-16-0-2 at home this season.
HOW THEY RANK:
The Reign are first in the Pacific Division, second in the Western Conference, and second in the league with 79 points, trailing Alaska by five points. The Condors are last in the 23-team league.
WHO TO WATCH TONIGHT:
Ontario's Kyle Kraemer and C.J. Stretch lead the Reign when playing the Condors with 11 points each (5g, 6a). They both have a +8 against the Condors as well. Dan DaSilva is next in points against the Condors with seven (3g, 4a). Bakersfield's Francis Verreault leads the team with five points, all assists, against the Reign. Boyd, Legace and Hendrix (currently called up) are tied for second against the Reign with four points apiece.
REGULATION RECORDS:
The Condors have 11 regulation wins this season and seven overtime wins compared to the Reign's 26 regulation wins and 11 overtime wins. The Reign lead the league in shootouts with a 0.489 win rate in the shootout - the Reign haven't lost a shootout at home this season.
IMPROVING ON SPECIAL TEAMS:
The Reign have taken strides in staying out of the penalty box and keeping their power-play statistics up. Since allowing the Eagles four power-play goals on Feb. 17, the Reign have stopped all nine attempts and converted one of their nine chances for a goal with the extra skater.
