Forward Eric Hunter Recalled to Oklahoma

STOCKTON, Calif. - The Stockton Thunder, proud ECHL affiliate of the Edmonton Oilers of the National Hockey League, announced that center Eric Hunter has been recalled to the Oklahoma City Barons of the American Hockey League.

Oklahoma City is the AHL affiliate of the Thunder and Oilers.

Hunter, 26, ranks fourth on the Thunder with 17 goals this season and has collected 38 points in 57 games.

The 6-foot-1 and 194 pound forward has appeared in two games this season with Oklahoma City and has skated in 80 career AHL games with the Barons and Lake Erie Monsters, posting 16 points.

Hunter signed an AHL contract with Oklahoma City on Nov. 6, 2012 and was originally signed by the Thunder as a free agent on Aug. 30.

He was twice selected in the NHL Entry Draft, beginning with the Chicago Blackhawks in the eighth round (229th overall) in 2004 and with the New York Rangers in the sixth round (174th overall) in 2006.

A two time recipient of the ECHL "Award of Excellence," the Thunder led the ECHL in attendance for four consecutive seasons and drew over 200,000 fans for the seventh consecutive season in 2011-12.
