ELMIRA, N.Y. - February 23, 2013 - The Elmira Jackals lead the Kalamazoo Wings by five points for the eighth, and final, playoff spot in the Eastern Conference. Tonight begins a pair of back-to-back games between the clubs at First Arena.

The Jackals are facing the Wings tonight for the third of four meetings this season and the second of three at First Arena. The Jackals are 1-1-0 against Kalamazoo this season after dropping a 5-3 decision here on February 8. The Jackals have been able to fire at will when facing Kalamazoo this season. They recorded a season-high 48 shots in their 2-1 win in Kalamazoo on Jan. 15 and then came close to matching that with 41 shots in Elmira on Feb. 8. Despite the heavy workload, former Jackals goalie Joel Martin has been tough against his former team and has stopped 84 of 89 shots in the season series (.944 SVP).
The month of February has belonged to Elmira's line of Jordan Pietrus, Kevin Harvey, and Rob Bellamy. The trio has combined for 35 points (18G, 17A) over the Jackals' last nine games (7-2-0). The only game in which all three were held without a point was February 1 in Toledo. Pietrus has led the charge with 15 points (8G, 7A) on his nine game streak while Harvey has also scored at least one point (4G, 6A) in eight of his last nine games. Rob Bellamy has 10 points (6G, 4A) in that time.
