After a 2-1 loss on Wednesday at Montreal, Sounders FC begins 2019 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup play Wednesday evening with a home match in the Fourth Round against Cascadia rival Portland Timbers at Cheney Stadium in Tacoma. Tonight's action begins at 7:30 p.m. PT and is being live-streamed on ESPN+, with Max Bretos and Charlie Davies on the call.
Víctor Rodríguez scored Seattle's lone goal via penalty kick in a 2-1 road loss last Wednesday to Montreal (Sebastian St-Jean / Seattle Sounders FC).
Seattle begins its quest for a record fifth Open Cup title, with the club currently tied with the Chicago Fire and Sporting Kansas City for the most among MLS teams in the tournament's 106-year history. The Rave Green have a staggering 23-5-4 record all-time in Open Cup play, including a 19-1-1 record at home.
Sounders FC returns to MLS action against Vancouver Whitecaps FC on Saturday, June 29, at CenturyLink Field (7:00 p.m. PT / JOEtv, YouTube TV, 950 KJR AM, El Rey 1360 AM).
