Birthday Boy: Today Blake Allemand is celebrating his 27th birthday. Allemand will bat eighth and play second base. Allemand was born in San Antonio and starred at Boerne-Champion High School before attending Texas A&M University. Allemand is batting .214 with 2 home runs and 5 RBI in 20 games for the Missions this season.

What Have You Done For Me Lately?: Tonight's starters on the mound have excelled as of late for their respective teams. Missions starter Bubba Derby is 3-0 with a 2.88 ERA (34.1 IP/11 ER) with a strikeouts to walks ratio of 29:18 over his last six games while Iowa's Alec Mills is 3-0 with a 2.83 ERA (35.0 IP/11 ER) and a strikeouts to walk ratio of 32:10. In June Derby and Mills were among the league leaders in a number of categories. Derby finished among the PCL leaders in ERA (3.49, 4th) and opponent batting average (.241, 5th) while Mills was among the leaders in ERA (3.34, 3rd), opponent batting average (.225, 3rd), and WHIP (1.11, 3rd).

Two Week Tear: Cory Spangenberg has been on fire over the last two weeks. Since June 14 Spangenberg is batting .403 (25-for-62) with 13 runs, 6 doubles, 1 triple, 1 home run, and 11 RBI. In that time frame Spangenberg is among the league leaders in hits (25, T-7th) and batting average (.403, 10th).

A Perfect 10: The Missions plated 10 runs last night. It was the seventh time this season San Antonio has scored 10 runs in a game, five of which came in June. The Missions are 7-0 when they score at least 10 runs in a game.

Sluggin' It: Last night's four-home run outburst for the Missions was their third game this season with at least four home runs. They belted a season-high five on June 13 against Tacoma and four on June 23 at Omaha.
