YESTERDAY: The Indians never trailed in yesterday's matinee against the Mud Hens, guaranteeing at least a series split with a 4-3 victory. Toledo out-hit the Tribe 12-9, but Erich Weiss' 3-for-4, three-RBI performance from the No. 9 spot in the order proved to be the difference for Indy. Mitch Keller pitched into the sixth inning, allowing one earned run on seven hits in 5.1 innings pitched. He walked four and struck out five. Michael Feliz allowed two hits and a walk in the ninth but managed to escape for his second save. Montana DuRapau (0.2ip, 0r), Brandon Waddell (1.0ip, 0r) and Brandon Maurer (1.0ip, 2r) bridged the gap to the final frame. Beau Burrows, rated as Detroit's No. 6 prospect by Baseball America, was charged with the loss after giving up two earned runs on five hits in 3.2 innings of work.

NICE WEISS: Erich Weiss' three-hit, three-RBI performance were hit first multi-hit and multi-RBI games for the 2019 season. It marked his 12th career game with three-plus RBI and first since Indy's 2018 season finale at Louisville, a game the Tribe won 4-0. It was also just the second game of his career where he homered and tripled in the same contest; the other occurrence was Aug. 21, 2016 with Double-A Altoona at New Hampshire, a game in which he collected a career-high seven RBI.

TODAY: Alex McRae (1-1, 3.38) will oppose Mud Hens southpaw Matt Hall (1-0, 2.35) as the Indians seek their ninth win in their 10 games overall. The Indians faced Hall twice in 2019, and the lefty surrendered four earned runs on nine hits and six walks in 9.1 innings of work (3.86 ERA) in a pair of no-decisions. Both of those outings came at Victory Field. Hall entered the 2019 season ranked as the Tigers' No. 23 prospect according to Baseball America.

McRAE DAY: Alex McRae makes his third start of the season this afternoon against Toledo, a team he's had a great deal of success against in his career. He made four starts against the Mud Hens in 2018 and went 1-1 with a 3.24 ERA (9er/25.0ip). He gave up 25 hits (0 home runs), walked just two and struck out 21 in those starts combined.

TOPPLING TOLEDO: After sweeping a brief two-game set in Toledo last week, the Tribe have picked up two more wins to start the current four-game series with their IL West foes. Indy's four consecutive wins over Toledo is its longest streak since winning six straight vs. the Hens in 2018 (June 12-14, June 25-27).

FOUR IS THE MAGIC NUMBER: The Indians have scored four or more runs in 11 of their 12 games so far this season, going 8-3 in those affairs. Since the beginning of the 2017 season, the Tribe are 137-43 (.761) when scoring four-plus runs and 23-91 (.202) when scoring three or less.

REYNOLDS STREAKING: Bryan Reynolds has reached base safely in all 11 games he's played in so far this season. He continued to flash power with his fourth homer of the season, a solo shot in the fourth inning Monday night, and delivered a run-scoring single in the first inning yesterday. He is batting .349 (15-for-43) with six extra-base hits, six RBI and nine runs scored overall. He's also played a superb center field, laying out for two fully-extended diving catches on the homestand.

RBI MACHINE: Will Craig contributed a two-run double in the seventh inning Monday night, giving him a team-high five games with two or more RBI. He is tied for third in the IL with 13 RBI with Louisville's Josh VanMeter, trailing only Zack Collins (Charlotte) and Mike Ford (Scranton/WB) who each have 14. Craig also leads all IL players in home runs with six.

PROTECT THE VIC: The Indians are off to a 5-1 start at Victory Field. Since opening the park in July 1996, the Tribe have finished at or above .500 in 21 of 23 seasons at Victory Field, with the only losing home records coming in 2002 (35-38) and 2003 (35-37), when the Indians were the Triple-A affiliate of the Milwaukee Brewers. In seven of the last nine seasons, the Tribe have finished at or above .500 against Toledo at The Vic, as well.
