Buffalo Bisons News Release
April 17, 2019 | 6:05 p.m. ET | McCoy Stadium | Pawtucket, RI | Game 13| Road Game #7
BUFFALO BISONS (4-8, 5th, -4.5 North) at PAWTUCKET RED SOX (6-6, 4th, -2.5 North)
RHP Sean Reid-Foley (0-1, 20.25) vs. RHP Chandler Shepherd (0-2, 5.23)
Today's Game
This evening the Bisons and Pawtucket Red Sox will close out their three-game series at McCoy Stadium. Buffalo can sweep the series with a win tonight, thanks to winning both games in last night's doubleheader.
Last Game (Gm1): BUF 2, PAW 1
RHP Jacob Waguespack threw five innings for the Bisons to notch his second win of the season. The Herd scored first, thanks to a Cavan Biggio sacrifice fly. The PawSox tied the game an inning later, on a bases loaded hit by pitch. Anthony Alford scored the game-winning run in the top of the 6th inning. Alford drew a walk, stole two bases, then scored on a wild pitch.
Last Game (Gm2): BUF 5, PAW 4
Pawtucket jumped out to a 4-0 lead, scoring four times in the 2nd inning. Mike Miller's two-run home run capped off the inning for the PawSox, however they would not score again. After scoring a run in the 6th inning, the Bisons scored four times in the 7th, thanks in part to a Richard Urena two-run base hit. Derek Law struck out the side to end the game and cap the comeback win.
Pawtucket (2-2)
The Bisons are making their first trip to McCoy Stadium on the 2019 season. Buffalo and the Pawtucket Red Sox will meet nine total times in New England, with a quick two-game series in June and a four-game series in July. Last season the PawSox won the season series with 11 wins in 20 games against the Herd.
Today's Starter
RHP Sean Reid-Foley will make his second start of the season for the Bisons tonight. The righty did not start in his last appearance on 4/12 at Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. Reid-Foley came into the game after RHP Ryan Tepera threw a scoreless inning to begin the game. He allowed four runs, all earned, in 2.1 innings pitched against the RailRiders.
Cavan Biggio
Infielder Cavan Biggio helped the cause in both games of yesterday's doubleheader sweep. Biggio went 3-4 with 2RBI between the two games, upping his batting average to .432, 2nd best in the IL among qualifiying batters. He also leads the Herd with 16 hits to start the season.
Blue Jays Update
Toronto (7-11) held on for a 6-5 win against the Minnesota Twins on Tuesday. The Blue Jays have won both games of the series, with RHP Trent Thornton getting the start in game three tonight at 7:40 p.m. The Jays will finish up the four-game series tomorrow at Target Field before continuing to Oakland.
