ABOUT SUNDAY: Tucupita Marcano belted a two-run home run to cap a three-run fourth inning as the Indians earned a series victory with a 5-3 win over the Saints on Sunday afternoon. After the Saints tied the game in the top of the fourth on a home run by Mark Contreras - his first of two in the contest - Indianapolis regained the lead in the bottom half on a sacrifice fly by Mason Martin that scored Swaggerty, who had reached third base with no outs on a walk, stolen base and balk. Following Taylor Davis' second two-out, two-strike single of the game, Marcano cleared the right field wall for his his first career home run at Victory Field. The Indians bullpen limited the Saints to seven hits over 5.2 innings, the lone blemish coming on a two-run home run by Contreras off Hunter Stratton in the eighth. Cam Alldred pitched around a double and single in the ninth for his second career save in Triple-A.

MAR-GONE-O: Tucupita Marcano set the tone in the lead-off spot on Sunday and led Indy's offensive charge with a 3-for-4 day that included a two-run home run and a double. The lefty slugger had only one home run with Indianapolis last season in 48 games. In eight games with Indy since being optioned by Pittsburgh on July 5, Marcano is hitting .313 (10-for-32) with a home run, three doubles, six walks and six runs scored. He has hit safely in seven of his eight games played - two of which were multi-hit games - and reached base in all eight games with a .421 on-base percentage. In 22 games with the big-league club, he hit .229 (16-for-70) with two home runs.

EVERTHING IS BETTER IN THREES: Travis Swaggerty ripped his career-high and team-leading sixth triple of the season - tied for second most triples in the International League - on Sunday afternoon. The Indians now have 29 three-baggers this season which is nine more than Jacksonville (20) and Rochester (20) who are tied for the second most triples in the International League. The last time the Indians had hit at least 29 triples in a season was in 2018 when they clubbed 30.

CAN'T STOP, WON'T STOP: After having his five-game hitting streak snapped Friday night, Bligh Madris picked up where he left off and went 2-for-5 with a two-run homer on Saturday and 1-for-4 with a double and a run scored in Sunday's series finale. Saturday night's two-hit offering was his 17th multi-hit game this season in 71 between Indianapolis and Pittsburgh. The lefty slugger has hit safely in 40 of his 57 games played in Triple-A this season, good for a .296 batting average (59-for-199). He has not skipped a beat since returning to Indy after spending a month with Pittsburgh and making his MLB debut. Madris has hits in eight of 11 games with Indy this month - including three multi-hit games. Prior to having his contract selected on 6/20, he had eight multi-hit performances in 16 June games.

ONE SHY: Mason Martin is currently one home run shy of 100 career home runs. The slugger has launched 14 home runs this season and two this month. He has double-digit home runs in each of his five professional seasons and his career-high most home runs in a season came in 2019 when he hit 35 with Single-A Greensboro (23) and High-A Bradenton (12).

TODAY: The Indians begin a six-game set with the Mud Hens at 7:05 PM ET at Fifth Third Field. The two squads are meeting for the second time this season and the first time at Toledo. The Mud Hens hold a slight advantage in the all-time series at Toledo against the Indians with a 115-112 record. They first met this season at Victory Field on May 17-22, and the Indians took the series victory with wins in four of the six contests. In tonight's series opener, Roansy Contreras will take the mound for his second career start against the Mud Hens and seventh career Triple-A start. Catcher Brook Fordyce contributed by leading the offense with three hits and two runs scored.
