Morning Skate

Going Streaking: The Mavericks enter play tonight riding a four-game win streak, all four wins coming at home. The recent streak has been part of a perfect 5-0 start at Silverstein Eye Centers Arena that features two wins over the Americans.

We Went To Jared: Jared VanWormer led the way in the Mavericks' win over Allen, scoring two goals and adding an assist in a 4-1 victory. The Traverse City, Michigan native is leading the Mavericks with 13 points on the year (5g, 8a) and enters Friday's game on a two-game scoring streak with five points (3g, 2a) in that short span.

Super Cooper: Mark Cooper has stepped his game up to a new level of late, having totaled seven points (3g,4a) and a plus-7 rating over the Mavericks' four-game win streak with two game-winning goals in that span. Coop was the Mavericks' Team MVP and leading scorer a year ago with 47 points, but he is poised to soar past that mark at his current pace.

We Like Eick: C.J. Eick enters Friday's game on a three-game scoring streak, having recorded an assist and two goals over the last three contests. Eick scored a shorthanded marker against the Americans on Tuesday, one game after scoring his first goal of the season against his former club, Utah, on Saturday.

Matchup To Watch: Mavs power play against Allen penalty kill. The Mavericks have found some success against Allen's penalty kill in two meetings this season, going 3-for-10 in a pair of home dates with the Americans. Allen is prone to taking penalties, the fourth-largest PIM per game mark in the ECHL, but the penalty kill has stepped up thus far en route to a ranking of seventh in the league at 89.1 percent.
