About Tonight's Game: Tonight marks the third meeting in the last four games between the two teams. The Admirals enter tonight's play tied for the for the top spot in the South Division with the Jacksonville Icemen (14 pts). Meanwhile the Gladiators have collected points in each of the last two games.
Last Time Out: Norfolk closed out its three-game road trip with a 3-2 victory at Greenville on Monday night. Ty Reichenbach made 39 saves in the win....Atlanta snapped a five-game winless streak with a 5-1 home victory against the Admirals on Sunday.
About the Admirals: Ben Duffy, Connor Hurley and Chris Crane lead the Admirals in scoring with eight points each. However, Crane sustained an injury in Monday's game at Greenville that will keep him out of the lineup for several weeks....Goaltender Ty Reichenbach was loaned to the Tucson Roadrunners of the American Hockey League (AHL) earlier this week. Brad Barone is expected to start in goal for Norfolk this evening. Barone turned aside 14 of 15 shots in a relief effort on Sunday at Atlanta. Barone was named the SPHL Goaltender of the Year last season after a successful year with the Roanoke Rail Yard Dawgs. Sergey Liulchuk has been added as an emergency backup goaltender. Liulchuk participated in Norfolk's training camp in October...The Admirals have not allowed a power play goal against since opening night on October 13 against Wheeling.
About the Gladiators: Branden Troock leads the Gladiators in scoring and netted a hat trick against the Admirals in a 5-1 win on Sunday....Goaltender Miroslav Svoboda was stellar in the two games against Norfolk last weekend allowing just four goals on 79 shots faced. Svoboda is fourth in the ECHL with a 1.73 goals-against-average....The Gladiators have scored 12 of the 21 goals this season in the second period.
Upcoming Home Games
Saturday, November 10, vs. Atlanta, 7:00 p.m. The Admirals will once again host the Gladiators tomorrow at Scope. Game time is set for 7:00 p.m. Saturday is Marvel Super Hero Night and the team will be wearing special Black Panther jerseys during the game and the jerseys will be auctioned off in the concourse during the game. Tomorrow is also Pucks & Paws and fans can bring their dogs to the game with a game ticket and a $5 donation at the gate to the Norfolk SPCA.
