Allen Americans News Release
Head-To-Head - This is the first ever meeting between the Americans and Cyclones. The two clubs will play a three-game weekend series at Allen Event Center tonight, Sunday and Mon day.
Pushing 50 - Americans forward and ECHL scoring leader Chad Costello has 49 points coming in to tonight's game against Cincinnati. Costello is coming off of a four point game last Sunday in the Americans 5-2 win over Colorado.
Milestone Watch - Casey Pierro-Zabotel, who is expected to return to the Americans lineup tonight, is one goal away from 100 for his pro career with 99. Pierro- Zabotel who has missed 14 games due to an injury has eight goals and 16 points in 21 games this season.
Almost Even - Allen netminders Riley Gill and Joe Rumpel have played almost the same amount of minutes this season despite both goalies missing significant time out of the lineup. Gill has recorded 1090 minutes to date, while Joel Rumpel has 1008.
Lake Erie - Eric Roy was loaned to the Lake Erie Monsters earlier this week after scoring 24 points this season to lead all-rookie defensemen. Roy has played one game for Lake Erie and recorded no points.
Cincinnati Cyclones Notes - The Cyclones come to Allen on a four game losing streak having dropped games to Fort Wayne, Atlanta, and two to Norfolk. Cincinnati is 1-2-0 against the ECHL Central Division this season, with their only win coming over the Wichita Thunder 6-1 on December 20th
Give Me the Puck - Allen Americans Rookie forward Casey Thrush received the game puck after scoring his first career goal last Sunday in the Americans 5-2 win over Colorado.
Around The ECHL - The Missouri Mavericks (30-3-1-1) were the first team to 30 wins this season with last night's 5-4 regulation win over the Colorado Eagles. Missouri forward Josh Holmstrom had a hat trick scoring on three of his four shots last night.
