Americans Erase Early Deficit, Defeat Cincinnati 3-2

Allen Americans News Release
Allen, Texas - The Allen Americans erase a 2-0 first period deficit, scoring three unanswered goals in a 3-2 victory at Allen Event Center in front of a crowd of 5,631 at Allen Event Center.
Nolan Descoteaux, Chris Crane and Justin Courtnall all lit the lamp for Allen, Descoteaux's first of the season, unassisted. Descoteaux grabbed a loose puck at center ice coming out of the penalty box and scored on an odd man rush, firing one from the right circle as the puck trickled across the line past Brandon Whitney to make the score 2-1 Cincinnati. The Cyclones took that lead to the locker room after twenty minutes of play.
The Americans jumped on the Cyclones early in the second frame. First, Chris Crane deflected one home from in front of the Cincinnati net for a power play goal to tie the score at 2-2. Eighteen seconds later, the Americans were at it again as Justin Courtnall deflected home a Mike Gunn shot from the right point for his second goal of the year, and the Americans had their first lead of the game 3-2.
Neither team would score in the third, as Riley Gill held off a late charge by Cincinnati as the Americans won their second straight home game by a score of 3-2 and improved to 21-14-1-0 on the season.
The Americans and Cyclones resume action tomorrow afternoon at 4:05 pm at Allen Event Center. Tickets are on sale at www.ticketmaster.com or call 972-912-1000.
