Let There Be Light
It's that time again!
The Winterhawks' annual Daylight Game returns to create one of the most unique indoor atmospheres in junior hockey. The curtains atop the bowl inside the VMC have been lowered, allowing the Portland sunset to illuminate the Glass Palace as the two teams battle it out on the ice.
It's sure to be an experience unlike any other in the WHL, and you won't want to miss it!
New Unis, Who Dis?
What better time to debut a new black uniform set than Black Friday? The Hawks will don some sleek new threads in today's tilt. Featuring a black base, the jerseys are accented with a white stripe on the sleeve and hem, and two red stripes above and below it. Check them out below:
If you like what you see, make sure to stop by the team store inside the VMC once you arrive! A limited quantity of replica alternate jerseys will be available for purchase at today's game.
High Octane Hockey
With respect to fans of goaltenders everywhere, there's not much better than back-and-forth, offensive hockey, and these two teams can put the puck in the net with the best of them. Kamloops enters the game averaging just shy of five goals per game in 17 outings this year, while Portland's attack has been hot on home ice with 3.5 goals per game during the current homestand. Winterhawks forward Gabe Klassen has points in seven straight games - the longest such streak of any Portland player this year - while Kamloops' Logan Stankoven takes the ice with eight points in his last four games. With the offensive talent on both sides of the puck, this matchup is sure to bring the fireworks.
WIN A TOYOTA:
Back for another season, fans 18+ who reside in Oregon or Southwest Washington can ENTER TO WIN a brand new Toyota car, truck, or SUV.
Each game this season, one lucky fan will have their entry drawn and they will have a chance to win our grand prize if they get all five game predictions correct.
Tonight, we are cheering on: Junior M. from Ridgefield, WA
What our Hawks fan could win: A brand new 2021 Tacoma
