Belleville Senators News Release

The set-up

The Belleville Senators will look to rebound after Friday's defeat to the Laval Rocket as the two teams do battle once again tonight.

Belleville (22-35-2-3) are on a three-game losing streak and sit seventh in the North Division standings.

Laval (23-29-6-2) are fifth in the North and sit 16 points behind Utica for a playoff spot.

Saturday's game will be the final time Belleville visits Laval this season.

Roster notes

The Senators signed defenceman Matt Petgrave to a second professional tryout Friday morning.

Danny Taylor started Friday against the Rocket so all signs point to Marcus Hogberg getting the nod tonight against Laval.

Max McCormick, Jim O'Brien and Erik Burgdoerfer are still with Ottawa while Kyle Flanagan, Francis Perron and Christian Jaros have yet to return for the Senators.

Previous history

Belleville is 2-6-1-0 against Laval this year and suffered a 4-3 overtime loss Friday. Laval will make two more visits to the Yardmen to conclude the season series on March 25 and Apr. 7.

Who to watch

Ben Sexton added a goal and an assist Friday night and has now tallied 16 points over his last 14 games for Belleville. Sexton has nine goals and 18 points in 23 games this year.

Laval defenceman Eric Gelinas scored his first career hat-trick Friday against Belleville. Gelinas has 22 points (12 goals) in 53 games this season.
