Heat Shock Condors for 3-1 Win to End Season Series
Published on March 10, 2018 under American Hockey League (AHL)
Stockton Heat News Release
Bakersfield, Calif. - The Heat shocked the Condors with two goals in the final 1:59 of the second period and would end the season series with Bakersfield with a 3-1 win on the road on Friday night at Rabobank Arena. For the fourth-straight game, the Heat surrendered the lead and saw the Condors get on the board first thanks to a point shot that redirected en route to Heat goalie Ryan Faragher and in. In a back-and-forth second the period was looking like it was going to end with the Heat still down 1-0, but a great play just outside of the zone put Brett Pollock in the offensive zone and he put a pass in a place that only Spencer Foo could get to and Foo tied the game up with the deflection over Bakersfield's Laurent Brossoit. Just before the period expired, Colin Smith tried one last ditch effort to get one more before the period ended and while his initial pass would be blocked, the puck returned to the Heat forward and Smith's shot beat the buzzer and gave the Heat their first lead of the night 2-1. Foo would add the empty net goal and Ryan Faragher made 33 saves in the 3-1 win. The Heat return to Stockton Arena for Pucks & Paws on Sunday, hosting the Cleveland Monsters for the first time at Stockton Arena. Fans can bring their dogs and sit in our "dog friendly" sections!
