
Hayden Recalled by Blackhawks

ROCKFORD, Ill. - The Chicago Blackhawks today announced they have recalled forward John Hayden from the American Hockey League's Rockford IceHogs.
Hayden, 23, has split the 2017-18 season between Chicago and Rockford. He began the campaign with the Blackhawks, notching 11 points (3g, 8a) with 43 penalty minutes in 39 contests. He was assigned to Rockford on Jan. 8 and has tallied 14 points (5g, 9a) in 22 AHL games, including three multi-point efforts with the Hogs. The forward collected points in 11 of his 22 appearances for Rockford and posted a season-high five-game point streak (3g, 4a) from Jan. 17-26.
The native of Chicago was originally selected by the Blackhawks in the third round (74th overall) of the 2013 NHL Draft. Prior to his professional debut, Hayden compiled 50g-41a-91pts in 127 collegiate games with Yale University from 2013-17. Hayden served as captain during his senior season in 2016-17 and was named to the NCAA All-Ivy League First Team.

The IceHogs host the Iowa Wild at 7 p.m. at the BMO Harris Bank Center.
