VS. HURRICANES: Tonight will mark the fourth of seven meetings between the Hurricanes and Tigers this season. Lethbridge currently holds a 2-1-0-0 edge in the season series with 7-0 and 5-1 victories. Several Tigers have 2 points in 3 games this season with Max Gerlach leading the way. Lethbridge's Brayden Burke has had a good season, as the WHL's second leading scorer with 50 points, 7 of those have come against the Tigers this year.

Medicine Hat has won 4 of their last 5 games heading into the Holiday break and are 5-5-0-0 in their past 10 games, Lethbridge has won 4 straight heading into tonight and are a league best 8-2-0-0 in their past 10 games

LETHBRIDGE FIRST: At the beginning of the season, most predictions would not have had the Lethbridge Hurricanes leading the Central Division at the holiday break, however once the final buzzer on December 19th sounded for the Tigers, they had defeated the Calgary Hitmen 7-5 and with the win, moved the Hurricanes into the top spot for the first time in over a decade. The Hurricanes currently lead the WHL in power play percentage and have Brayden Burke 2nd in WHL scoring with 50 points. Andrew Nielsen is tied for the WHL lead in defenseman scoring with 36 points and the WHL's leading rookie scorer in Egor Babenko who has 44 points, 8 points more than the next skater.

SANFORD SPECIAL: Medicine Hat Tigers sniper Cole Sanford had a great season last year, scoring 50 goals and 96 points, finishing second in league goal scoring. This season Sanford is right back in the action, having recorded 16 goals so far which ranks 2nd on the team. Sanford scored his 100th career WHL goal on Saturday against the Hitmen as he became the 30th player in franchise history to have scored 100 goals in the orange and black uniform; the last players to join the club have been Hunter Shinkaruk (105) and Curtis Valk (125). Sanford also played in his 200th career game earlier in the season and now has 225 games played as a Tiger as tonight will move the 20 year old into sole possession of 43rd in franchise history with 226 games played. If Sanford plays in all 37 remaining games this season, he will be tied for 26th in franchise history with Linden Ley and Blair St. Martin at 262 games.
