Vancouver Giants News Release

Vancouver, B.C. - The Vancouver Giants picked up their fourth win in the last five games on Sunday afternoon at the Pacific Coliseum, doubling the Everett Silvertips 4-2. The G-Men got their goals from Ty Ronning, Matt Barberis, Owen Hardy and Alec Baer.

Patrick Bajkov opened the scoring for the Silvertips in the final minute of the first period, but the Giants bounced back with three goals in a 2:48 span in the middle frame to take the lead. First, Ronning scored his team leading 21st of the season to tie the game at 1-1. Just over two minutes later, Barberis gave the Giants their first lead of the game with a power play goal, and 26 seconds after that, Hardy scored his second of the season on a tight angle shot from along the goal line, beating Everett goalie Carter Hart above the shoulder.

Baer bagged his 11th goal of the season to extend Vancouver's lead in the third period, but 12 seconds later, the Silvertips got back within two when Bajkov scored his second of the game, but that was as close as the Silvertips came.

Ryan Kubic made 32 saves in the win.

The Giants are back in action Wednesday, December 30th, when they host the Prince George Cougars. Puck drop is set for 7:00pm. For tickets, go to TicketLeader.ca or call 604.4.GIANTS (604.444.2687).
