
Prince Albert returns from holiday break with win over Saskatoon

Prince Albert, SK - Sean Montgomery scored a pair of tallies to spark a four-goal third period by the Prince Albert Raiders en route to a 6-2 victory against the rival Saskatoon Blades on Sunday night at the Art Hauser Centre.
Playing their first game back from the holiday break, the Raiders continued off the momentum of two big wins last week. Prince Albert peppered the Saskatoon net with 29 shots through 40 minutes, leading to a huge third period by the home side.
Montgomery registered two goals in his 100th WHL game, while Brendan Guhle also found the back of the net twice. Tim Vanstone (2a), Matteo Gennaro (1g-1a), Kolten Olynek (1g-1a), and Parker Kelly (2a) all earned two points in the win.
Nick Zajac (1g-1a) and Cameron Hebig (2a) collected two points each to lead the Blades. Connor Gay also scored for the visitors.
Rookie goaltender Ian Scott stopped 29 of 31 shots in the Raiders' net, while Blades netminder Brock Hamm kicked out 33 of 38 attempts.
The Raiders outshot the Blades 39-31. Prince Albert went 1-for-3 on the power play, while Saskatoon was 0-for-5.
Prince Albert extends their win streak to three games and moves their record to 21-11-2-1. Saskatoon drops to 13-18-3-0 with the result on Sunday.
The Raiders will play three more games this week, all against opponents from within their own division, beginning on Tuesday, December 29, when they visit the Swift Current Broncos.
