ICE CHIPS
The Winnipeg ICE look to bounce back following a 4-3 loss to the Swift Current Broncos last night as they host the Prince Albert Raiders in a 7:00 face off tonight at the ICE Cave inside Wayne Fleming Arena.
Matthew Savoie, Owen Pederson and Carson Lambos scored for the ICE, who have dropped back to back games for the first time this season. Goaltender Daniel Hauser saw his season opening 16 game winning streak come to an end making 20 saves.
Last month, the ICE set a new franchise record with a 15 game winning streak eclipsing the previous mark of 14 games held by the 2009-10 Kootenay ICE.
From October 15th to 22nd, Winnipeg became the first Eastern Conference based team to go a perfect 5-0 on the road versus the B.C. Division since the 2011-12 Kootenay ICE.
Carson Lambos was named the 24th Captain in ICE franchise history on October 6th.
The 19 year old returned from Minnesota Wild Training Camp where he appeared in three NHL preseason games. Connor McClennon, Owen Pederson and Ben Zloty were named alternate captains for 2022-23.
ICE VS RAIDERS
The ICE and Raiders will play six times during the regular season (Sept 28 @ PA 6-2 W / tonight @ Wpg / Jan 18 @ PA / Mar 14 @ PA / Mar 18 @ Wpg / Mar 19 @ Wpg).
Winnipeg is 1-0 versus Prince Albert following a 6-2 win September 28th at the Art Hauser Centre. Connor McClennon and Steven Arp both scored twice while singles came from Conor Geekie and Aiden Oiring. Daniel Hauser made 26 saves.
Winnipeg had an 5-1-2 record versus Prince Albert during the 2021-22 regular season led by forward Connor McClennon who registered 12 points (6 goals and 6 assists) in 7 games.
