Game #18 Preview: Blades at ICE
November 14, 2021 - Western Hockey League (WHL)
Saskatoon Blades News Release
The Saskatoon Blades wrap up a stretch of three games in three nights, and second consecutive contest against the Winnipeg ICE.
Saturday night, Saskatoon was handed a 4-1 loss to the CHL-leading ICE, with Tristen Robins notching the lone goal for the visitors in the second period.
The setback came one night after Saskatoon opened the weekend with a 2-1 victory in Brandon, led by Nolan Maier's 46-save performance to record his 100th career win.
Saskatoon and Winnipeg sit second and first respectively in the East Division, although the ICE sit nine points clear of the Blades, having lost just a single game all season long.
Who to Watch
Alternate captain Tristen Robins netted the lone goal for the Blades on Saturday at the Wayne Fleming Arena in a 4-1 setback to the ICE. The pending WHL graduate is up to 28 points on the campaign and sits tied with Winnipeg's Matthew Savoie for top spot in the WHL scoring race. The Clear Lake, MB product has also lit the lamp in four straight games.

Captain Aidan De La Gorgendiere continues to excel at both ends of the ice, collecting another helper in Saturday's contest. The 19-year-old defenceman is up to 15 points on the season - 14 of which assists - and netted his first goal of the campaign Friday in Brandon.
Draft-eligible forward Brandon Lisowsky has lit the lamp nine times this season, and sits one goal back of Robins and alternate captain Kyle Crnkovic for top spot in team scoring.
