Friday's Movie Night at Wuerfel Park Canceled Due to Weather
July 24, 2009 - Frontier League (FL)
Traverse City Beach Bums News Release
TRAVERSE CITY, Mich.-The Traverse City Beach Bums have canceled the showing of For Love of the Game at Wuerfel Park tonight, July 24, due to the threat of thunderstorms in the Grand Traverse area.
For Love of the Game was scheduled to be the second Beach Bums Movie Night of the summer. However, the weather in northern Michigan has not yet cooperated. Field of Dreams, which was scheduled to be shown on July 10, also was canceled due to thunderstorms that night.
Fans of the Beach Bums, movies, or both, still have two chances to enjoy a movie outdoors at Wuerfel Park. A League of the Own is scheduled to be shown on Aug. 7, while 61* is planned for Aug. 21.
Both movies are slated to begin at 9 p.m. The ballpark concession stand will be open throughout the movies. Admission is just $5 for adults and only $2 for children under-10.
