
Crushers announce doubleheader with Midwest

Avon, OH - Calling all baseball fans! The Lake Erie Crushers invite you to their first double-header, including a post-game fireworks show, on Friday August 7th. It is guaranteed to be a fun-filled night of affordable entertainment with tickets starting at just six dollars.
The Crushers will host the Midwest Sliders from Ypsilanti, MI for their regularly scheduled home stand on August 7th, 8th, and 9th. The first game on Friday will start promptly at 5:30 p.m. with gates opening at 5:00 p.m. The original match, scheduled on Wednesday, July 1st in Ypsilanti, was canceled due to a rain out in the bottom of the first inning.
The Sliders will be acting as the home team and the game will pick up in the bottom of the first inning with the Crushers leading 1-0. A full nine innings will be played with a 30 minute break before Game 2. The second game will consist of only seven innings with fireworks following its completion.
These two Eastern Division teams are certain to provide a competitive match-up. The Crushers are currently 2nd in the division with a 30-24 record and a combined .274 batting average. The Sliders, on the other hand, are ranked 4th in the division with a 26-27 record and an impressive .289 batting average.
The Lake Erie Crushers are the newest expansion team in the Frontier League, an independent professional league with 12 teams throughout the Midwest. The team plays its home games at All Pro Freight Stadium, the new 5,000 capacity ballpark located at the intersection of I-90 and Route 611 in Avon. Season tickets and Mini-plans are on sale now!
