
Grizzlies Win Third Straight

EVANSVILLE, IND.-The Gateway Grizzlies scored six times in the fourth inning Friday night and held on for a 7-5 win over the Evansville Otters in front of 4,994 at Bosse Field. The Grizzlies have won the first two in the three-game series and have now won three straight. They have also won five of their last six series.
Evansville (16-40) got on the board first with a pair of runs, one earned, in the second inning against Grizzlies starter Paige Dumont.
Gateway (24-31) then answered in the sixth. Charlie Lisk led off the sixth with his league-leading 19th home run of the year to straight away center. Danny Morrow and Jareck West each picked up one out hits before Joe Agreste hit the first home run of his professional career. The three-run shot put the Grizzlies on top 4-2. Alex Kerins reached on an error and Brandon Peters hit his sixth home run of the year to make it 6-2 Grizzlies.
The Otters answered with three runs in the fourth to cut the lead to one. They would get no closer.
Dumont tossed five innings for the win. He allowed all five runs, four earned, on five hits. He walked two and struck out four. He improves to 4-1 in his first five starts with the Grizzlies. Grizzlies relievers Adam Revelette, Adam Bowling and Joel Boeschen combined for four scoreless innings. Boeschen picked up his fourth save of the year. He allowed on hit and struck out one.
Peters was 3-5 to lead the way for the Grizzlies. West was 2-4. Lisk was 2-5.
The Grizzlies will go for the series sweep Saturday night. First pitch is set for 7:05 pm.
