Fresno Falcons News Release

LAST WEEK'S RECORD: 2-1-0 OVERALL RECORD: 20-38-6, 46 pts.

March 17 vs. Long Beach, 4-3 Win – Wearing green, St. Patrick's Day jerseys, which were auctioned off after the game to the tune of $21,350 to benefit the United Way, the Falcons scored three times in the opening 10 minutes of the game to stake themselves to a 3-0 lead. The Ice Dogs rallied to pull within one on two different occasions, but Mike Mathers' goal with under five minutes to play stood up as the game-winner.

March 19 @ San Diego, 3-1 Loss – Fresno fell behind the Gulls, 2-0, after two periods of play in the first game of a weekend home-and-home between the two long-time rivals. All-star defenseman Kevin Truelson's unassisted, coast-to-coast, short-handed effort six minutes into the third sliced San Diego's lead in half, but the Falcons couldn't register the equalizer as San Diego added an empty-netter for the final margin.

March 20 vs. San Diego, 2-1 Win – The Falcons and Gulls traveled back to Save Mart Center for the finale of their two-game set, where Kris Porter and newcomer Daniel Bohac gave the home team a 2-0 lead through 20 minutes. In a role reversal from the night before, San Diego cut the Falcons' lead to 2-1 with a goal mid-way through the third, but goaltender Mike Brusseau slammed the door shut, stopping 23 of 24 on the evening for the victory.
