The Gulls and Ice Dogs have met nine times this season with San Diego holding an 8-0-1 edge. This is the last meeting of the season.

San Diego owns the all-time series match-up, posting a 35-10-2 record against its Pacific Division rival. The Gulls are unbeaten in their last 22 games against the Ice Dogs (21-0-1).
LAST HEAD-TO-HEAD MEETING: MARCH 14:
Mark Pederson lit the lamp twice, while Sandro Sbrocca and Greg Barber had the other tallies en route to San Diego's 4-2 win in Long Beach. The Ice Dogs jumped out to a 1-0 lead on Jerome Marois' tally midway through the first period. Pederson evened it early in the second before Sbrocca gave the Gulls the lead at 7:01 of the middle frame. Pederson struck again at 11:49 before Long Beach cut the lead back to one at 18:19 of the second. Barber, however, put the game away late in the third while the Gulls were skating on the two-man advantage.
GULLS UPDATE:
The Gulls (42-13-10) enter the day tied with the Louisiana IceGators atop the Western Conference. The IceGators, who are idle tonight, have played two more games than San Diego... The Gulls lead the Pacific Division by six points over the Las Vegas Wranglers, who also do not play tonight. San Diego needs just seven points in its final seven games to clinch the division title... The Blue and Orange hold the second-best overall record in the ECHL, trailing only the Wheeling Nailers by six points... San Diego is 27-5-1 at the Sports Arena this season and is 18-1-1 in its last 20 games on home ice...
OTHER NOTES:
The last time the Gulls lost to Long Beach in regulation was Oct. 26, 2002. They finished last season with 13 straight wins over the Ice Dogs... San Diego is unbeaten in 11 of its last 12 games (7-1-4)... The Gulls are 38-10-5 against Pacific Division teams, which includes a 25-2-0 mark at home... They've lost in regulation only three times in their last 31 games (21-3-7) and six times in their last 47 games (33-6-8)... Out of San Diego's 65 games this season, 35 have been one-goal games. The Gulls are 20-5-10 in one-goal affairs (1-5 in overtime and 6-5 in shootouts)... Trevor Koenig is second in the ECHL with 31 wins and fourth with a 2.23 goals-against average. He is unbeaten in 22 of his last 24 games (16-2-6)... Brian Gornick has five points (2g, 3a) in his last three games...
PEDERSON, DESCHATELETS AND BARBER UPDATE:
Pederson leads the league with 43 goals and is tied for fifth with 77 points. Pederson also leads the ECHL with 18 power-play goals and is tied for second with eight game-winning goals. He has 10 points (6g, 4a) in his last six games... Pederson had his 20-game home point streak snapped Friday night against Fresno... Sylvain Deschatelets is in the midst of a career-high 19-game point streak, which began Feb. 10 against Long Beach. During his streak, he has 29 points (11g, 18a)... Deschatelets is tied for eighth overall in the league with 72 points... Barber has 12 points (6g, 6a) in his last seven games and leads all ECHL rookies overall with 72 points, 29 goals (tied with Columbia's Paul Cabana) and 43 assists. His 72 points is tied for eighth among all ECHL scorers...
LONG BEACH UPDATE:
The Ice Dogs (22-38-5) enter the day sixth in the Pacific Division with 49 points, three ahead of the last-place Fresno Falcons... They are winless in seven of their last eight games (1-6-1), but six of those games were decided by two or fewer goals... Long Beach is 10-19-4 on the road this season... Alex Kim (23g, 25a) and Martin Paquet (11g, 37a) lead the club with 48 points apiece. Both began the season with different teams...
TRANSACTIONS:
Forward Darren Partch was signed today... Trent Clark was signed on Sunday... Billy Tibbetts was loaned to the American Hockey League's Houston Aeros on Saturday... Head coach Steve Martinson serves the fourth of a five-game suspension tonight... Colin Zulianello and Kevin Grant were both activated from injured reserve on Friday... Emergency back-up goaltender Mike Buckley was released Friday... Jamie Black was signed Thursday then transferred to the injured list with an ankle injury... Josh Gratton remains with the American Hockey League's Cincinnati Mighty Ducks... Dennis Purdie remains on the injured list...
