Regular Season Home Schedule Concludes This Weekend; Fans Encouraged To Buy Tickets Early

Johnstown, PA- The Johnstown Chiefs close out their 2003-2004 home schedule this weekend with a pair of exciting promotions.

"This has been an exciting season of Chiefs hockey. This weekend brings a close to a very successful home schedule. We want to build on these two games for the upcoming playoffs," said Chiefs Vice-President and General Manager Jim Brazill.

Saturday, March 27th, when the Chiefs host the Trenton Titans at 7:00 p.m., several characters from the cult hockey film "Slap Shot," will be in attendance. Among the cast attending are the Sparkle Twins (Louise and Janet Arters), Yvon Barrette (Denis Lemieux), former Johnstown Jet Guido Tenesi (Billy Charlebois), Paul D'Amato (Tim "Dr. Hook" McCracken), Chris Murney (Hanrahan), former Johnstown Jet Jean Tetreault(Andre Bergeron), Gracie Head (Pam) and TV announcer Jon McClintock. Tentatively scheduled to appear Andy Duncan (Jim Carr), Mark Bousquet (Andre "Poodle" Lussier), Woody Espy (stick boy), and Bill "Goldie" Goldthorpe (the player Ogie Ogelthorpe was based on).

There will be a special ceremony prior to the game. Throughout the first period, the characters will be signing autographs and there will be raffles for movie memorabilia with all proceeds going to Sparkle Twin Louise Arters and her battle with MS. Arters is currently in the need of a special handicap van that cost over $50,000. So far, approximately $22,000 has been raised towards the cost of the new van.

The Johnstown Jaycees will also have their last food drive of the season. All fans are encouraged to bring a can or non-perishable food item to the game.

Sunday, March 28th, versus the Cincinnati Cyclones is Jeff Sullivan Bobble Head and Fan Appreciation Day. Game time is at 2:30 p.m. The first 2,000 people through the gate will receive a Jeff Sullivan Bobble head doll courtesy of Crown American and the Johnstown Renaissance group. In addition, hundred of prizes, donated by Chiefs sponsors will be given away at random to fans throughout the game. Following the game, there will be a "Skate with the Chiefs," and autograph session, with the entire team participating. Skate rentals will not be provided

Tickets for both games are available at the War Memorial Box Office or by calling (814) 536-5156 or 1-800-CHF-TIXX. The box office is open from 10:00 a.m. till 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday and Saturday and Sunday 10:00 a.m. through game time.
