
Freedom Open Homestand with Win

Florence, Kentucky: The Freedom returned to Champion Window Field on Kentucky Enquirer Winning Wednesday. It turned out that the Freedom fans weren't the only ones winning in Florence last night.
After Evansville jumped on the board with a run in the first, the Freedom answered. Reggie Watson tripled and was driven in on a groundout by Mike Galloway. Kyle Geswein then hammered the Cody Blackard offering over the rightfield fence for his fourth homerun of the season. Florence led, 2-1. Mike Galloway got his homerun swing back with a bang, he sent Blackard's pitch over the right field wall for his first homerun of the season, 25th of his Frontier League career. Chris Brown then doubled in Kyle Geswein. Jason Bowlin and company was able to hold off the Evansville offense, and took it 5-3.
Jason Bowlin (1-4) went seven innings, giving up just one earned on three hits, striking out two. Cody Castle came in for an inning and two/thirds, giving up just one run. Drew Jackson recorded the last out for his fourth save of the year. Kyle Geswein powered the offense, he went 2-3 with a homer, an RBI, and two runs scored. Mike Galloway went 1-3 with a homerun, two RBI, and two runs scored. Chris Brown continued his batting average climb, going 3-4 with an RBI.
The Frontier League All-Star rosters were annouced yesterday, and the Freedom will be sending two representatives to Evansville. Catcher Clint Chauncey and outfielder Chris Brown were voted to the game by the media.
Game two of the six game homestand is tonight, it's Thirsty Thursday at Champion Window Field, with one dollar drinks. BJ Church (2-3) is set to go for the Freedom against Evansville's Jake Haggerty. The Freedom are in the midst of a six game homestand, and welcome in Washington after the three game series with the Otters.
