Crestwood, Illinois: Fresh off of breaking a five game slide, the Freedom were looking to continuing their winning ways in Windy City, but they fell to the Thunderbolts in extras, 5-4.
Wally Quigg continues to lead the offense in the two spot, he went 3-5 with a run scored and an RBI. Mike Galloway drove in a run; Scott Pickens homered for the sixth time this season. Josh Sanchez also added an RBI. Joel Posey (7-1) pitched a very good game; he went six and two/thirds innings, giving up two earned runs on six hits, striking out nine. He has his ERA to a respectable 2.78. Ted Rowe (6-3) pitched well but gave up the winning run in the 10th.
The series finale is tonight in Windy City; both teams look for the series win. Chillicothe won, so that means the Paints and Freedom are now tied for the second playoff spot in the East. First pitch tonight is scheduled for 8:05; Jeff Johnson's pre-game show is scheduled for 7:50.
