O'Fallon, Missouri: The Florence slump continues, the Freedom dropped their eighth straight, falling 5-4 against the River City Rascals.
Extra base hits finally showed up for the Freedom, which is a good sign for the Florence bats. Kyle Geswein went a perfect 4-4 with a double and a run scored. Greg Buscher made his one hit count, smacking his third homerun of the season. Chris Brown continued his hot hitting, going 3-4, he is now batting .400, good for second in the Frontier League. Wally Quigg has been hot since returning to the Freedom lineup, he went 3-5 with a run scored. Josh Sanchez went 1-4 with an RBI. Jason Bowlin (0-1) made his first start since coming off the injured list, he went six innings giving up three runs, striking out four in the no decision.
Florence finishes up the series with River City tonight at 8:05, you can listen to the action on www.florencefreedom.com. The Freedom are off on Tuesday, but head to Kalamazoo to face the Kings in a three game series. The Freedom return home to Champion Window Field on Saturday when the Windy City Thunderbolts come in for a three game set.
