Missouri River Otters News Release

St. Charles, MO --- The Missouri River Otters of the United Hockey League are proud to announce that defenseman Mat Snesrud, goaltender Jason Tapp, and rookie forwards Justin Quenneville and Mark Odut have been selected to play in the 2005 Pepsi UHL All-Star Classic.

This year's All-Star Classic is scheduled for Monday, January 24, and will be hosted by the Adirondack Frostbite at the Glens Falls Civic Center in Glens Falls, NY. The game will be contested between the Team Pepsi All-Stars, represented by players from Adirondack, Danbury, Elmira, Flint, Motor City, Port Huron, and Richmond, and the Team Mountain Dew All-Stars, represented by players from Missouri, Fort Wayne, Kalamazoo, Kansas City, Muskegon, Quad City, and Rockford.

Snesrud, 27, has had an electrifying first half of the season for the River Otters. The Minnesota-native is currently second among all UHL defenseman with 19 assists and 25 points.

"Mat is an incredibly smooth skater who moves the puck very well," River Otters head coach Kevin Kaminski said. "Not only is he a great power play quarterback, but he also has become a very solid player in his own zone."

Tapp, 26, is having one of the best goaltending seasons in the River Otters six-year history. Hailing from British Columbia, the feisty netminder leads all UHL goaltenders with five shutouts.

"Jason brings a high competitive level to every game," Kaminski said. "He's always working to get better, and it shows in his shutout total."

Quenneville, 22, and Odut, 25, have come in as rookies and provided a dynamic one-two scoring punch for the River Otters. Perhaps fitting, they are currently tied for the team lead in goals with twelve apiece.

"Both Justin and Mark are very smart hockey players," Kaminski said. "They both have the knack for getting pucks around the net, and we're thrilled to have two such talented rookie forwards."

The River Otters next game is Wednesday, January 12 against the Rockford IceHogs at the Family Arena. The puck drops at 7:05, and all the action can be heard on KSLQ 104.5 and the B2 Webcast, located at www.riverotters.com.
